the other clinic counselling & therapy

Six new therapists have joined us

Following the expansion of our Pembroke Street office, we’re pleased to announce that six new therapists have joined us over the previous months.

Each brings a distinct presence to the clinic, shaped by her own trajectory & experience within the fiel, and allow us to better meet the need for therapy within the city.

Psychotherapist & Couples Therapist

Bláthnaid is an Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapist with over 30 years’ experience in nursing and healthcare leadership, including extensive work in palliative and end-of-life care. She trained at the Tivoli Institute in Dublin and offers therapy to individuals, couples, and groups.

Her work is informed by psychodynamic, existential, and emotionally focused approaches, and is shaped by a deep understanding of grief, loss, chronic illness, and life transitions. Bláthnaid provides a compassionate and grounded space for those navigating crisis, change, or a wish to better understand themselves.

Beatriz Moraes

Psychotherapist

Beatriz holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Educational Psychology, and is specialised in Jungian Psychotherapy through the Jungian Institute of Rio de Janeiro. Her work centres on the use of dreams, images, and symbols as ways of exploring inner life and fostering self-awareness.

She offers an integrative approach tailored to each individual and sees psychotherapy as a space where meaning can emerge gradually, rather than being imposed. Beatriz offers therapy in both English and Portuguese.

Catherine Byrne

Catherine is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience. She holds a BA and MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and is currently completing post-master’s specialist training at the School of Psychotherapy, St Vincent’s Hospital.

She works in liaison psychiatry at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, supporting oncology patients, and offers a careful, non-judgmental space for people to speak freely about their inner world. Catherine also offers psychoanalysis for those seeking a more in-depth engagement with long-standing patterns and symptoms. Her work is informed by the Lacanian tradition.

Jessica is a fully accredited psychoanalytic psychotherapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and is currently completing a specialised diploma in Non-Directive Play Therapy.

Julieta Casal

Integrative Psychotherapist

Julieta is an Integrative Psychotherapist with a strong grounding in psychoanalysis. She completed her undergraduate training in Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires, followed by postgraduate training in child and adolescent psychology, developmental psychology, and counselling and psychotherapy.

She works primarily in private practice, integrating different therapeutic approaches in response to each client’s needs. Julieta offers psychotherapy in both English and Spanish.

Emma Stakelum
MA, BA, APPI
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

Emma is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist whose work is oriented toward the unique subjectivity of each person she sees. She invites clients to speak freely in a confidential setting, allowing unconscious material to emerge at its own pace.

With a background in linguistics from UCD and an MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Emma has worked in university counselling services, addiction programmes, and community mental health settings. Her clinical practice is informed by ongoing training at the Freud-Lacan Institute, alongside her own analysis and supervision.

With the addition of Emma, Catherine, Julieta, Beatriz, Jessica, and Bláthnaid, we continue to shape a clinic defined by respect for each person’s singularity.

We’re very glad to welcome them to the Other clinic.
